It's simple.ShaktiCoin

"Community organizing is all about building grassroots support. It's about identifying the people around you with whom you can create a common, passionate cause. And it's about ignoring the conventional wisdom of company politics and instead playing the game by very different rules."

Our Journey

Our journey began in August of 2016 with an engineer sending a remittance to his relatives. The transaction was slow, costly and unpredictable. "There must be a better way" quickly led to a second thought: "What if...."

He had an idea about a new kind of currency he called Shakti Coin. Unfortunately, most people felt his idea was impossible. One day, he shared his impossible idea with a friend who was working with distributed ledger applications, also known as the blockchain. His friend didn’t think the idea was impossible. Audacious, yes, but not impossible. The two teamed up.

Not knowing what to call themselves, they took inspiration from their favorite video game and settled on "Two Guys from the Milky Way Galaxy" (a.k.a. Milky Way Guys). By 2016, there were two guys with an odd name and an idea that most people still felt was impossible. A good start, but to make Shakti Coin possible there would need lots and lots of people to share their vision. So they opened their address books and described their idea to everyone they knew, some of whom also felt Shakti Coin was not so impossible.

In the months that followed, the Shakti Coin concept began to attract the interest of more like-minded people. Some contributed their ideas, others lent their expertise and a few even chipped in some cash. By 2018, the two guys had grown into a global community of guys and gals from all walks of life.

This group exists independent of any affiliation with industry, government, religion, or political party. It is, in every sense of the word, a diversified grassroots organization. The only thing that members of the Shakti community have in common is the audacity to believe that by working together they can make a positive difference for all people — everywhere.

In January of 2019, the Swiss Shakti Foundation was established in Zug, Switzerland with the aim of bringing Shakti Coin to the world. We welcome all. Get to know us. If you believe in what we’re doing, and in yourself.
